Must Have School Accessories!

With the new school year starting, there is always an odd mixture of feeling excited and overwhelmed at the same time. There are plenty of things to prepare for, from buying school supplies and outfits, and all your last minute necessities.

Here is our list of must have school accessories to help get you started on the path to success!

Headphones:

Headphones are an essential item to have, and have become equally as important as your notebooks and laptop! You can listen to lectures or podcasts while on the go or your favorite song to pump you up! They are a great tool to help you focus while studying, and if you prefer to study in silence, keeping them in your ears without anything playing is an easy and polite way to keep the distracters away. Investing in a good pair of durable headphones will survive longer through all the hustle and bustle. But, if you don’t feel like splurging, you can always get a noise cancelling dupe for $20-30 bucks.

 

Reusable Water bottle:

It’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day. With a reusable water you’re saving money and helping the environment. Plus, drinking enough water helps prevent unhealthy snacking. Keep your mind refreshed!

Lap Top Lock

Not only are laptops expensive, but it has all your invaluable work. Don’t let a bathroom break be the reason for your laptop to go missing, it’s worth the investment!

Organization Apps

Every student knows there is always a task to accomplish, whether you are trying to catch up or get ahead! Wunderlist and Any.Do are two popular task manager apps which help you get organized so you never miss a thing!

New Car Seat Laws!

As summer begins to wind down, parents and students alike are getting ready to go back to school. But, the leaves aren’t the only things changing this fall. The car seat legislation has been revised and will officially be implemented this month.

Here are the new rules:

Infant to age 2:

Children must be placed in a five point harness car seat that faces the rear if the child is under 30 Ibs and under the age of 2.

Once the child has exceeded weight and age limit, the car seat can be face forward.

Ages 2 – 4

Children under the age of 4 or under 40 lbs must remain in either a rear facing or a forward facing car seat with a five point harness in the back seat of a vehicle.

Once the child has exceeded the weight or age limited, they can switch to a booster seat.

Ages 4 – 8:

Children under the age of 8 or 57 inches tall must remain in the back of the vehicle in a booster seat.

Once the child has exceeded that weight and height, they are eligible to use a regular seat belt.

When can a child sit in the front seat?

If the vehicle does not have a back seat such as a pickup truck or sports car; car seat and booster seat regulations still apply.

Also, the vehicle passenger-side airbag must be disabled if a rear facing car seat is strapped into the front seat of the vehicle

What if you don’t comply?

Those who don’t follow the new laws will face fines ranging from $50- 75.
